Vijay Deverakonda hits back at Koffee With Karan trolls after Rashmika Mandanna’s note: ‘We are both gloriously happy’

The couple were trolled after Vijay said on the show that he asked Rashmika to propose to him 100 times. Rashmika called the backlash “bullying dressed up as feminism”.

Vijay Deverakonda has hit back at people trolling him and his wife Rashmika Mandanna over their Koffee With Karan episode, hours after she posted a long note on the backlash. “For all those concerned, We are both gloriously happy. I am blessed. If its me and her against the world - so be it,” the actor wrote on Instagram on Monday.

In the same post, he called Rashmika “My best friend, my wife, my woman” and added: “One of the most beautiful parts of my life that I got absolutely right.” He signed off with an expletive aimed at everyone else, India Today reported.

The trolling began after the couple appeared on the second episode of Koffee With Karan Season 9. Rashmika said she told Vijay, “Let’s get married,” to which he replied, “Okay, you ask me 100 times.” When host Karan Johar asked if she really asked him a hundred times, she said, “I asked him for an entire year.” Many viewers criticised Vijay over the remark.

Rashmika responded first, in a note she shared on X. “But the current frenzy over our interview feels less like people having opinions and more like an angry mob looking for someone to vent at,” she wrote.

“First, it was never about the number of times or an entire year. That’s where some of you got stuck. Yes, that conversation happened,” she wrote. “Find a man who loves you so beautifully that even after you’re married, you’d still want to tell him, “Let’s get married.” I would do it a thousand times- 100 is nothing. It’s really that simple.”

She also hit out at people who brought her family into it. “But talking about my family without knowing them? That’s not feminism. That’s bullying dressed up as feminism,” she wrote.

Vijay and Rashmika married in Udaipur on 26 February 2026, in ceremonies that followed both Telugu and Kodava traditions.
