Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani was visibly moved and wiped tears from his eyes as his children spoke at the listing ceremony of Jio Platforms at the National Stock Exchange (NSE) in Mumbai on Wednesday (28 October), Moneycontrol reported. Seated beside his wife, Nita Ambani, the 69-year-old listened as Isha, Akash and Anant Ambani addressed the gathering before the bell-ringing, according to The Times of India.
Isha Ambani took the audience back to 1977. “A few evenings ago, at our dinner table, my father, Shri Mukesh Ambani, was remembering his days in 1977. He was 20 years old, working on Reliance’s first public offering. My grandfather, Shri Dhirubhai Ambani, had decided to take Reliance to the people,” she said.
“Finally, to my father, Shri Mukeshbhai Ambani. Again and again, my father has seen a future others could not see yet. Again and again, my father has found the courage to build what others called impossible,” she said. She also turned to her brother: “Akash, for the last 13 years on this journey, I don’t think you’ve come home a single night before midnight. I could not be prouder to be your sister.”
Reliance shared her full speech on X. “Speech by Ms Isha Ambani, Director, Jio Platforms, at the listing ceremony of JPL IPO,” its @RIL_Updates account posted.

Anant Ambani began with thanks. “Let me begin with the one word that matters most today, gratitude. To the millions who believed in Jio and made this day possible,” he said. He described himself, Akash and Isha as “three bodies but one soul”, united by a shared mission, Moneycontrol reported. “Speech by Shri Anant Ambani, Director, Jio Platforms, at the listing ceremony of JPL IPO,” Reliance posted with a video of his address.

Akash Ambani, Jio Platforms’ managing director, said the listing was a start line, not a finish line. “We promise to take Jio to greater heights of growth, excellence and reputation in India and the world,” the 35-year-old said at the ceremony, which his grandmother Kokilaben Ambani also attended, The Times of India reported.
The family rang the bell at 10 am. By 11.01 am, Jio Platforms shares were trading 21.42% higher at ₹1,358.7 on the BSE, according to The Times of India. The debut made Jio Platforms India’s second-most valuable listed company, with a market capitalisation of about ₹12.5 lakh crore to ₹12.6 lakh crore, according to The Indian Express and Moneycontrol.
As The Indian Idiot reported earlier on Wednesday, Jio Platforms listed at ₹1,358, 21% above its IPO price, after India’s biggest-ever IPO.
