While some Bollywood songs steal away all the glam with their memorable lyrics and beas, here is another list of under-appreciated Bollywood songs that have a beautiful charm and deserved better.

Choomantar

“Hum chale kahin, Awara hokar naape zameen,

Hum dhoondhe kahin Kuch aisa jo khoya hi nahin”

You literally get lost in this song, it has w cute and happy vibes like Gubarre. A must have in your feel good playlist! From the movie Mere brother Ki Dulhan, sung by

Benny Dayal and Aditi Singh Sharma. The music and lyrics were way ahead of their time by Sohail Sen and Irshad Kamil respectively.

Raatein (Shivaay)

If pure had a voice, this is what it would sound like because Jasleen Royal always gives beautiful songs that deserve more love! leave everything and listen to it right now(trust me on this). It’s written by Aditya Sharma

Mere Sang

From the very, very underrated movie New York, this song never fails to bring a smile on your face. Sunidhi Chauhan’s powerful yet soothing voice made the already amazing lyrics and music even better! Love the lyrics by Sandeep Shrivastava. Aise log kahan milte hai?

“rukna na raaho mein roke agar kal tujhe parchhaiyan,

sang tere main bhi hoon tanha nahi hai teri tanhaaiyaan”

Nain Parindey

After watching Lafangey Parindey, you’d agree that Neil Nitin Mukesh deserves more. This song is a work of art and trust me, no music streaming service will recommend this song, you’ll have to go and find it on your own and that is how, this gem remains hidden.

Every time when Shilpa Rao sings “palak jhapakte udd jaayenge, sapno ko apne ghar laayenge” I get goosebumps.

Sung beautifully by Shilpa Rao, lyrics by Swanand Kirkire and the music is by R. Anandh

Khudaya Khair

In 2009, Every time this song played on FM, it would lighten my mood instantly, and some things never change.

The video is too wholesome, it literally shows a family in a village being happy while doing everyday, mundane things like bathing in a river, going to the temple and watching a movie 🙂 I would put the entire Billu album here if I could because whatta gem.

Aa Jao Meri Tamanna

Yes, I know the APKGK album is one of our faves, but when you say that, you are mostly talking about tera hone laga hoon and tu jaane na. But this song hits different, I can’t exactly pin point what exactly it is, but it has that secret ingredient that makes you come back to it even after years 🙂

Sung by Javed Ali and Jojo, the dreamy music is by Pritam and the lyrics are by Irshad Kamil.

Naina

With the numerous songs about Naina’s, this one remains underrated. I can put the whole Khoobsurat album here but specifically ‘naina’ and ‘preet are overshadowed by other bangers.

The lyrics literally speak to your soul and are my personal favourite. “mann mann ki sunta jaaye, sunta nahi mann walo ki, mann hi mann mein banaye, duniya ye ek khayaalo ki”

Sung by Sona Mohapatra and Armaan Malik and the lyrics and music are by Kumaar and Amaal malik!

Sapno Se Bhare Naina

From the movie Luck by chance. The song’s soul has been put in by Shankar Mahadevan, written by Javed Akhtar and the music is by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.

In the heart touching video, the way farhan looks at different people and then even after being so nervous, he helps another guy fill his form is just beautiful. He undermines his capability by looking at other confident people, but in the end he believes in himself again which is simply all of our stories.

Woh Ladki

Andhadhun was a masterpiece in all aspects but this song remained hidden for some reason. It is a soothing number with the best part being the piano notes.

Sung by Arijit Singh, the music is by Amit Trivedi and the lyrics are by Jaideep Sahni. Listening to it on a rainy day with your headphones on is a blessing 🙂

We have got it covered for you in this playlist for these and more under-appreciated Bollywood songs.
