Cricket Australia slapped a 12 month ban on captain Steve Smith and vice captain David Warner over the ball-tampering scandal.
Steve Smith and David Warner have been getting a lot of sticks from the international cricket community and fans around the world. BCCI has also decided to ban the players from playing in Indian Premiere League that starts from April 7.
Smith flew back from South Africa to Australia today and held a press conference soon after his arrival. “I know I will regret this for the rest of my life. I am absolutely gutted. I’m sorry and I’m absolutely devastated,” he emotionally apologized to the fans around the world. “I know I’ll regret this for the rest of my life, I’m absolutely gutted. I hope in time I can earn back respect and forgiveness.”
Smith was already teary eyes when he invited media to ask him questions. Someone asked what message he would like to send to children who aspire to be an international cricket player and he absolutely broke down.

Really hope he bounces back from this absolute nightmare soon. Everyone deserves a second chance.
