For an instant rush of dopamine and reminiscing these golden days here are some songs from the 2000’s we absolutely have some special love for .

Zara Sa

It’s from the movie Jannat which was released in 2008 (ah 12 years, shit we’re old) but it still is as amazing as it was then. KK’s voice is so fresh that the people who listen to it for the first time would think of it as a beautiful 2020 release (ab milta hi nahi, pata nahi kaha hai)

Tum Mile

Another Emraan Hashmi track that never fails to lift my mood. I mean, the vibes damn. It is one of the purest tracks with simple and beautiful lyrics, what else do you need ?

Neeraj Shridhar’s voice hits different.

Imagine, you’re in your car, with a nice evening city view and this song is playing on radio while you’re about to reach your destination but you wish traffic mei phas jaye so you can listen to the whole song because it’s THAT good?????

Bakhuda Tumhi Ho

Kismat Konnection is your average 2000’s movie with love blossoming and lots of lying but with a not so average soundtrack. Bakhuda is a beautiful song about love (duh) with Atif Aslam and Alka Yagnik at their best and THE CUTEST VIDEO EVER (trust me on this). It is super underrated along with another song from the movie, ‘is this is love’.

And Ae Papi toh apna dopamine booster hai.

It’s 2008, you’re in your room wearing the funkiest clothes you own, dancing to chaliya from Tashan, bringing out your inner Kareena Kapoor minus the size zero.. just imagine. This one is just perfect self love song with Sunidhi Chauhan’s Voice so powerful and charming, it’s enough to carry the song on its own.

Also that “nasheela nasheela tera naina churaile humra chaina” tho.

Hai Junoon

This song literally radiates khushi. No, really, if you’re sad or smthn, listen to it on loop, i promise you dopamine! new York has an out of this world soundtrack, if Hai Junoon defines friendship, mere sang is all about a lover trying to cheer up their partner and Tune Jo Na Kaha just breaks your heart into chotu sa pieces!

Laare Chhoote

Probably the raddest song of that time! The lyrics, the hook step, oof. It’s a killer combination. I’m so mad it doesn’t get the love it deserves!

In Dino

From life in a metro, which came out in 2007. Another great but underrated gem, actually all the songs from this movie are so beautiful that you will end up listening to them on loop on a rainy day. The literal meaning of this song is a permission from the heart, which says ‘karle tu bhi mohabbat’. It’s written by Sayeed Quadri.

O humdum Suniyo Rę

Bahar jaana toh it’s not safe abhi and vibe to O Humdum Suniyo Re and pretend you’re outside riding a bike right After it rained for an hour. KK & Shaan, but you can put on your headphones two faves!

Also the title song, so that tu hasti rahe tu hasti rahe. And Aye Udi Udi!

Couldn’t put together this list without including this gem which puts a smile on your face instantly. The amount of nostalgia is directly proportional to the amount of time you shout MITWAAAAAAAAAAA.

Shankar Ehsaan Loy really nailed this album.

Listen to them while working, or jam to them in the shower,

these songs will always set the mood right.
