Snapchat CEO Calls India A Poor Country & Everyone’s Furious

While the tech giants of the world consider India to be one of the biggest potential market for their products, CEO of Snapchat thinks that India is “too poor” for their photo-messaging app.

Snapchat’s ex-employee Anthony Pompliano filed a lawsuit against the company for misleading their investors and advertisers about their average user performance.


He also revealed that at a meeting to discuss Snapchat’s user growth in 2015, Pompliano expressed his concern that the app wasn’t doing as good overseas and he presented methods to address the issue but Snapchat’s CEO, Evan Spiegel, abruptly cut him off by saying, “This app is only for rich people and I don’t want to expand in poor countries like India and Spain.”
