Although the rain washed out the final day of the final test match against Australia, but Indian Cricket Team, under the leadership of Virat Kohli, still made history as they became the first ever Asian country to win a test series in Australia.

Indian team literally dominated Ausies in every aspect from day 1 of the first test match and won the series 2-1. It’s really a massive achievement for Indian cricket because Indian team often gets the sticks for only performing well in the sub-continent.

However, ecstatic coach Ravi Shastri probably took it too far during the post match press conference where he said, “I will tell you how satisfying it is for me. World Cup 1983, World Championship of Cricket 1985 – this is as big, or even bigger, because it is in the truest (Test) format of the game. It’s Test cricket, which is meant to be the toughest.”

It’s no doubt this is a massive victory for Indian cricket but there’s no way one can compare it to the 1983 World Cup win against the mighty West Indies. As you might just expect, it didn’t land too well on social media either. Here’s how people reacted to his comment.
