Netflix’s first Indian TV series turned out to be a massive success. It not only received high critical acclaim in India, but in other countries as well. Audience loved it so much, its memes flooded the Indian side of the internet for two whole months.

They left season 1 on a massive cliffhanger and going by the insane hype on the internet, people are enthusiastically waiting for the next season. Last month, Netflix officially announced the return of Sacred Games, however, its fate is now unclear after an anonymous account on Twitter accuses co-writer Varun Grover of sexual harassment.

Varun Grover claims that the accusation is “false” and “completely fabricated, misleading, and defamatory.” He released his official statement on Twitter shortly after the screenshots started doing rounds on social media.

Most of the people on the internet also think it’s a false allegation to derail the #MeToo movement started by Tanushree Dutta in India.

However, controversy surrounding sexual harassment is still bad for the image and Netflix is now considering other options. A source told, “The #MeToo movement is going the Hollywood way. Netflix had fired Kevin Spacey from House of Cards over sexual harassment accusation last year. It won’t be surprising if they decide to drop Sacred Games since the co-writer and co-producers are involved in a controversy.
