Ranbir Kapoor is the OG emo King of Bollywood and we’ll never forget all the iconic scenes and lovable characters. On his birthday today, here’s just recalling scene from some of his much loved movies.
When Jordan gets to know of Heer’s state in the hospital, he just softly tells Khatana bhai, “Mera dil nahi tootna chahiye. Please. Please kuch karo, mera dil nahi tootna chahiye. Mere paas aur kuch nahi hai.” He’s helpless. He’s hopeless. He’s the most vulnerable he has ever been.
One of the most heartbreaking scenes that stays with you.
Ved. Ved’s every dialogue & every scene floored us. And it was all cuz of Ranbir’s phenomenal acting. But the ending had us all stunned when he described the facts of his life like a storyteller- something which was his passion. As he finishes it with all the dramatic flourishes saying “Ending kharaab hai na?” you know he will make it all alright. There is such honesty & sheer brilliance to that 5-6 min monologue that you get legit goosebumps in and out.
I mean, we all know he’s a great actor and all, but he takes it to next level with his performance as Barfi. Especially this scene, when he finds out Shruti is getting married. No dialogues, just pure skills. His heartbreak is your heartbreak. His pain is your pain. You feel all the feels. And that’s how good he is.
One of the most underrated yet brutally honest movie w Ranbir’s most unique role as salesman who wants make it big in business. There is a scene of his when w stern eyes & a soft smile he says, “risk toh Spiderman ko bhi lena padta hai, main toh phir bhi salesman hu.” And th that’s actually the whole theme of ir the film. An ordinary middle class man takes big, Spiderman risks in his everyday life to achieve his dreams.
Wake Up Sid
Vibing to the song ‘Kya Karoon and in the end you see Sid just coming out of the car’s roof and dwelling into the happiness of that moment. Just him taking in all the positivity-thats just Sid being Sid. Carefree and happy, and then ofc being a whole mood by going off to sleep cozily. Never related to a character more than him.
One of my favorite scenes comes right before Kar Har Maidan Fateh song. When Sanju’s dad makes him listen to his mother’s recording from the
hospital and then sings him a Song. A switch just flips in his head as he breaks down and in that moment he knows this is it. He has to change. And he never look back again.
Main udhna chahta hu Naina, dhodhna chahta hu, girna bhi chahta hu….bas rukna nahi chahta” This moment. The backbone of the beautiful we all love. No one could have pulled it off like Ranbir. And there is so much genuineness to it W that so many of us turn back to it for the motivation & adrenaline ngl. Duniya fr se alag hatke bond hai uss scene ke saath!
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Being the soft emo actor of Bollywood, ADHM Ayan was the epitome of senti. But what made us all cry was Ranbir’s heart wrenching expressions in Channa Mereya. As he danced around sadly for his ek tarfa pyaar in the film, we all knew he had our heart there & then. Definitely a scene which no one can ever forget, as he seized our heart & ripped it apart in two.
Bachna Ae Haseeno
Raj was a casanova or “killer” as he puts it but when he suffered heartbreak first hand he decided to make amends for all the past Mistakes he made. That scene at the airport is so intense & sweet when he confesses how all his life he has made a joke out of love, and now he will go back to apologise for his past to make his future better kyunki na jab pyaar, ishq, mohabbat jab hota hai, jisko hota hai… duniya badal deta hai :”)
Happy Birthday !!
