“Raksha Bandhan” is a heartfelt film that exposes the harsh reality of societal issues that still persist today. And of course the leading role is played by Akshay Kumar. The movie delves into the depths of the women’s souls and highlights the need to eradicate gender discrimination.

The movie emphasizes on a social problem

It intelligently addresses social evils and emphasizes how women can protect their self-respect by taking a stand. The film boasts a strong script with no flaws and delivers it’s message effectively. The performances by Akshay Kumar, Bhumi Pednekar and the entire cast are wonderful, with Akshay Kumar stealing the show as always. His movies consistently motivate and carry a meaningful message.

It is a simple yet powerful family entertainer. There is no mass drama and over-the-top action. It’s evident that the movie is realistic and entertaining. If the trailer intrigues you, go ahead and watch it.

The direction and writing strike a fine balance between humor and heartfelt moments. Though the film has some loose ends, the second half is particularly moving and impressive. Akshay Kumar delivers a remarkable performance, especially in the emotional scenes, while Bhumi Pednekar also holds her own. The sisters’ roles leave a lasting impact. This film tackles the issue of dowry, delivering a powerful message effectively.

“Raksha Bandhan” is an emotional rollercoaster

Despite its predictable plot and melodramatic scenes, the movie succeeds thanks to director Anand Rai’s ability to infuse heart and soul into the story. The dialogues are a definite strength. While the first half may feel dull, there are touching moments in the second half that uplift the film. It serves as a social commentary on the prevailing dowry system, a tradition that many parts of India still practice.

Personal opinions on the film may vary and while some may find it watchable, it is advisable to approach it with lower expectations. However, the story feels incomplete and lacks proper development. The film touches on the issue of dowry, but it’s portrayal is more reflective of old thinking rather than representing the current generation. The inclusion of stereotypes and outdated narratives is disappointing.

In summary, “Raksha Bandhan” has it’s moments but falls short in delivering a fresh and captivating story. It is a great one time watch with your family.
