More than 15,000 students and professors gathered in Delhi to march for the right to higher education.
Students and professors from DU, JNU, Jamia, AMU, BHU, AU, TISS and other universities joined hands together to protest against the decision by HRD Ministry to grant graded autonomy to 60 educational institutions of higher education.
Under this decision, government plans to cut down their funds to universities. And to generate funds, universities will charge students. Ultimately, higher education will become unaffordable and inaccessible for financially backward people.
