From Kadakh to Bhonsle, here are some remarkable movies and TV shows that you can watch or re-watch this weekend !
It’s one of the most under-hyped OTT movies of this year! Recently premiered on SonyLIV, it’s a dark comedy/thriller shot in just one apartment! It stars Ranvir Shorey in the lead role, along with a brilliant ensemble cast including Kalki Koechlin.
The film starts with an unexpected visitor to a man’s house and the visitor kills themselves, and what happens next is a series of bizarre events during a Diwali party. Just watch the trailer once!!!!
OG of sitcoms. No gang beats Jerry, Elaine, George & Kramer! George’s self-deprecating humor hits on a whole different level. Even better than Chandler’s, sorry. Jerry and Elaine’s friendship is S refreshing and Kramer is …. well, Kramer. My favorite thing about the show is just how extremely random it is. They take the most mundane & stupid topics and create a whole episode around it. Love it.
It’s one of those inspiring feel-good reality shows you can watch literally anytime regardless of your mood. Sad? chalega. Happy? chalega. Crying? chalega. Low on motivation? Definitely, definitely chalega!! And for those reasons, you should be in!
I’ve already talked about this film a lot, because it deserves to be hyped. Everything about this film is top notch; from performances to background music to cinematography. Very happy to see IT platforms giving a space to all these indie films to be loved so much by the fans. Also, Manoj Bajpayee. Aur kya hi bolu.
Dekho firstly, Rajkumar Rao heera hain. That’s a good enough reason to watch Shahid. Secondly, this biographical drama on Shahid Azmi, a lawyer and a human rights activist is unflinchingly brave and honest.
Matlab, the poster of the movies gives you chills and upar se, the artistic capability with which they showed how grey life is, uff, standing ovation. Genuinely, Shahid’s a battle of mindsets and struggle. MUST WATCH.
If you’re still sleeping on it, wyd? For those who have watched it, a rewatch never hurt anyone. Piku is just so simple, heart-warming and unabashedly true. Matlab, I can imagine my papa to be a complete pain in the ass and me being difficult after 15 years from now but yahi toh iss movie ki USP hai. The “Hum Chale Baharon mein, gungunati raahon mein” car ride to Kolkata basically made us relive all our gile shikve and bohot saara unsaid pyaar with our parents. Violent UwU.
Also guys, Irrrfaaaaaan. I’m cri thoda sa.
Starring Jimmy Shergill in the lead role, it’s the official remake of an Israeli show of the same title. Son of a big-shot judge gets involved in a hit-and-run, and then comes the things he does to save him. A meaty role for our boi Jimmy and he plays it brilliantly, so surprise! He literally gives his best to any kind of character he does and that’s why so much love for him!
Sachin: A Billion Dreams
It feels like your very own journey of growing up; from childhood to adulthood. A rewatch is a must when you’re feeling low and need a reminder of how far you’ve come, also it’s so inspiring it still gives me goosebumps.
OR you can just sit back and rewatch Hotel Transylvania for the 12th time and get zinged by those feel-good vibes! My comfort film.
All of these are streaming now on SonyLIV , don’t miss out on these gems !
