Jonathan Groff, Holt McCallany, Anna Torv, Hannah Gross, Cotter Smith, Cameron Britton starrer series that investigates why serial killers do what they do in 70’s in Mindhunter but many hearts will hurt now.
Yes, you read the title right, the Netflix’s period FBI-agents-and psychological thriller drama Mindhunter will not return for another season. David Fincher, the executive producer has also confirmed that the Pittsburgh-shot series is not going to roll for another season because it’s turning out to be ‘Very Expensive’ .
Earlier this year, Groff, McCallany and Anna Torv were released from their contracts due to uncertainty over the show’s future. Over why this unexpected turn took place, Fincher says that at the start of the second season, he “ended up looking at what was written and deciding I didn’t like any of it, so we tossed it and started over.”
“It’s a 90-hour workweek. It absorbs everything in your life. When I got done, I was pretty exhausted, and I said, ‘I don’t know if I have it in me right now to break season three.”
In short, the reason to call off the series is the limited viewership of the critically-acclaimed show in relation to its budget. In an interview with Vulture he commented, “but I honestly don’t think we’re going to be able to do it for less than I did season two. And on some level, you have to be realistic — dollars have to equal eyeballs.”
Netflix still has an ounce of hope, leaving the possibility. “Maybe in five years”, a Netflix spokesperson said about returning of the third season. Netflix didn’t argue; CEO Ted Sarandos and Cindy Holland, at the time the company’s VP for original content, just asked Fincher if there was something else he wanted to work on and thus released the new trailer of ‘Mank’.
Fans are going through this dukh dard on social media; okay so lets cry a little in corner and fill our void with something else till then.

Foh with that bullshit. If Netflix can make a trilogy of Kissing Booth movies then they can make Mindhunter. https://t.co/CwNzrrB78Z
