After a lot of hype on social media over the last few months, we finally get the teaser for period-drama Manikarnika – a movie based on Jhansi ki Rani. Directed by Krish, the film stars Kangana Ranaut, Jishu Sengupta, and Atul Kulkarni. The teaser also features a voice over by Amitabh Bachchan.
Kangana Ranaut is playing the role of Rani Lakshmibai, a fierce queen and a warrior who takes on the British army to save her land. The teaser features a bunch of slow motion battle sequences that look inspired from Zack Snyder’s 300 film, but it’s her dialogue delivery that is a massive, massive downer. Also, the vfx at the start of the film looks terrible, but it’s okay given the small budget for the film. Battle sequences actually look pretty good!

“I am proud of this film, and of portraying a character who empowers and inspires. We have put in our heart, blood and sweat into making this film. Manikarnika will make every Indian proud,” Kangana had earlier told Indian Express in an interview.
Actually pretty excited for the film as it is scheduled to release on 25th January, 2019. What did you think? do let us know in the comments below.
