Haaaaaave you met, Dr. Vijay Nath Mishra? he’s a professor at Institute of Medical Sciences of Banaras Hindu University (IMS-BHU) and he’s already a legend. Why, you ask?
So get this, Dr. Vijay Nath has designed a windows application named ‘Har Har Mahadev’ that will not only block “unwanted” websites containing pornography or vulgar or violent content, but the app will also automatically start playing Hindu devotional songs when a user tries to open an “inappropriate” website.
“Human minds are exposed to violence and vulgarity because of easy access on the internet. The aim of this app was to have a filtering system in place.” said Dr Mishra of Institute of Medical Sciences- Banaras Hindu University’s neurology department.
It took about 6 months for Dr. Mishra and his team to develop ‘Har Har Mahadev’ app which is now available to download for Windows on ‘harharmadadev.co’. The app only plays Hindu bhajans for now, but they soon plan to have an android version and add devotional songs from other religions as well.
“The app is not just meant for children but also for those in office spaces,” says Ankit Srivastava, a web developer who helped Dr Mishra in developing ‘Har Har Mahadev’ app.
