Movies and TV shows have kinda taken away our reading habits, but here are some handpicked fiction books with amazing story line that will surely take you back to your reading habit.

Tell Me Your Dreams
Author: Sidney Sheldon

Serial Killers, Mental Institutes and Courtroom Drama, this Sidney Sheldon novel has it all. Another one of those books which is hard to put down once you start. Even if you’re new to psychological thrillers, the chilling story will have you turning pages till the end.
They Both Die At The End
Author: Adam Silvera

Okay, imagine you get a call at midnight, telling you that you have exactly 24 hours to live. 24 hours to make the memories of a lifetime and do everything that you wanted to. That’s this book. Told from the perspective of two boys with lyrical writing and LGBTQ themes, this book will remind you to make every day count.
The Silent Patient
Author: Alex Michaelides

One of the most talked about books of 2019, this revolves around a therapist and his quest to understand a patient who was accused of killing her husband. Very addictive with an ending that you’ll never see coming, it’s one of those books which I finished in a single sitting and if you like psychological thrillers, you will too.
Nothing To See Here
Author: Kevin Wilson

This one’s about Lillian who’s going to take care of two kids. The catch however, is that the kids burst into flames randomly! It’s an oddball premise but it works. The book is quirky, entertaining and original. And it’s very, very heartwarming, Highly recommend this one!
The Martian
Author: Andy Weir

Even if you have watched the movie, you absolutely should read this! You’re not gonna find such an engaging story with laugh-out-loud humor in any other book. Even if you’re not a science buff, it’s gonna be hard to put this one down. If you’re feeling lonely or down on life, this tale of an astronaut left behind on Mars will surely lift your spirits up!
The Institute
Author: Stephen King

Luke Ellis, a gifted child is kidnapped and tortured in The Institute with a bunch of other kids. Another favourite of mine from the master of horror, Stephen King. Honestly, cannot praise it enough. The suspense, characters – it was all top-notch. If you’re a fan of Stranger Things, you’ll love this book!
Fangirl
Author: Rainbow Rowell

This one’s gonna take you back to your initial college days. The protagonist Cath is an introvert and reading about her dealing with roommates, adulting and relationships is funny and cute all rolled into one. It’s the kind of book you wanna read with a comfy blanket with a cup of coffee while it’s raining. If you like watching rom-coms, this one’s totally gonna be your thing!
The Turn Of The Key
Author: Ruth Ware

A gothic suspense novel but instead of the typical Victorian castle with creaky doors, you get a modern smart house with advanced tech. Sounds new, eh? The premise is that a Nanny in jail is accused of murdering one of the children in her care and she’s explaining her case to a lawyer. Slow-burn and atmospheric, it’s one of my favourite mystery novels that I just couldn’t put down!
One Of Us Is Lying
Author: Karen M. McManus

Five students walk into detention. Only four walk out alive. What follows is a young adult murder mystery that will keep you addicted and guessing till the end. Felt like I was reading a TV series tbh, it’s really good.
Go, get reading 🙂
