IPL season brings back so many memories and so much enthusiasm everywhere and here is us looking back at some of our favorite IPL moments of all time.
First ever match
18th April, 2008. First ever IPL match, and KKR’S McCullum started it with absolute fireworks. And you see, that’s where the pyaar for IPL began.
Christopher Henry Gayle. IPL 2014. RCB VS PWI. I mean who doesn’t remember the bestest innings ever played in a T20 match? A killer 175* off 66 balls. 13 smooth fours and 17 fabulous sixes. An inning of glory and bowlers jo darr gaye thein Imao. The Gayle storm hit hard that day, and rest is history :”)
Gilly’s last match
Adam Gilchrist last IPL match in 2013 v/s MI had the biggest surprise for all his fans. He bowled the last over, yes bowled for the first time ever, nd left everyone spellbound with a wicket and Gangnam style celebration 🙂
IPL Final 2019
A match with so many unforgettable moments. OG Shane Watson killing it with his bleeding knee. Emotional last over- the redemption of aging Malinga. His face, as if to say “Remember me.” WHAT A MATCH.
Dravid losing his cool
A thriller than even made Dravid lose his cool. Mumbai needed a boundary of the last ball to surpass RR’s net run-rate. Aditya Tare pulled off something nobody was expecting A six over the square leg! Followed up by Dravid throwing his cap. A rare sight that made us think “aisa bhi hota hai?”
One of the most controversial and WTF moments of IPL ever. The amount of memes and discussion it started. Oof. What a night. WHAT A NIGHT.
First ever IPL final
When the weakest team on paper Rajasthan Royals won the IPL trophy in an edge of the seat thriller. WHAT A. FINAL. Suresh Raina’s power hitting led CSK to set a target of 163 but then Yusuf Pathan’s all rounder show with the bat & ball led RR to become the IPL kings circa 2008!!!
AB & Kohli Partnership
14th May 2016 1PL 2016. Two of the best batsmen in the world. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers made a record-breaking partnership of 229 runs. Both of them made centuries in style & notched a place in our hearts.
And then there is this plethora of unforgettable moments where:
Sachin’s maiden century against Kochi Tuskers.
Kohli’s expression changed from YAY to NAY When he thought he had won on the last ball but umpire signalled it a no-ball. CRAZY.
Dhoni blasting 30 in last two over to take CSK into semifinals in 2010.
Sachin opening with Ricky Ponting and blasting Muralidharan.
Stuff dreams are made of.
