1. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
Coming home from school and watching Tulsi cry at random things w mom because ghar mei ek TV hota tha. The hype was insane when Mihir pulled a Jon Snow or when Tulsi shot Ansh Gujral. Still remember dem VFX lol.
Smriti Irani might be a questionable minister, but she was definitely born to play Tulsi and ruin our childhood!
2. Kasautii Zindagii Kay
Throwback to the time when dinner time just meant sitting with family & watching Kasauti Zindagi Kay because internet hota nahi tha and it was fun to watch two adult dudes trying to get on with Prerna while Komolika tried to dhin tanana dhin dhin tanana dhin-ed everything.
The reboot version of this show is still ruining childhoods btw.
3. Balika Vadhu
Man, still remember the hype around this show when it’d come out. And tbh, it was actually pretty good. But then obviously they had to stretch 2 seasons into 2000+ episode- *gets abruptly cut by a loud thud* *maha generic moral of the story narrated by a woman*
4. Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahi
This show was so cool when it first came out but now that I look back..it looks like the show was just another one telling us to achieve unrealistic beauty standards and we don’t listen to that no more!
5. Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki
Another soap opera by Ekta Kapoor that made no sense. This was just a draggy 8-year-old version of Baghban. There, I said it.
6. Bade Ache Lagte Hain
Ram Kapoor played a character called Ram Kapoor. Matlab character naming mein 0 effort toh script mein kya he ukhaad logey? This show’s trajectory just had a downfall.
7. Kumkum: Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan
This show was supposed to be depressing according to Indian standards..and I have seen my mom weeping to this. I mean, if this was what TV achieved in the early 20s while inUSA shows like FRIENDS and HIMYM were getting made, I have nothing to say..
8. Pavitra Rishta
Sorry but I have no complaints about this show because this show gave us Sushant Singh Rajput. (plis forget Drive on Netflix; janhit mein jaari)
Harry Potter se zyada characters toh bhai is show mei the. Also, it was more confusing than Nolan films. Aajtak samjh nahi aaya writers karna kya chahte the.
10. Agle Janam Mujhe Bitiya Hi Kijo
While we were being forced to watch Agle Janam Mujhe Bitiya Hi Kiju, kids around the world were watching Seinfeld, Friends, Scrubs, 70’s show. Nice.
11. Kasamh se
“Kasam se kasam se, kasamhhhh seeeeeee” if you read this in that tone, welcome to the support group for people who got their childhood ruined by Ekta Kapoot ma’am.
