If there’s one franchise that’s been going as long as Saath Nibhana Saathiya without boring you, it is the MI franchise. Isi rishte ko aage badhate hue Tom Cruise is back with the seventh installment of the series. And all I’ll say is- buckle up, because Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One is here to blow your socks off! This latest installment in the never-ending franchise proves that Tom Cruise and his team are like Energizer bunnies on steroids – they just keep going and going. Sure, there are a few clichés and some moments that drag a tad, but who cares when you’re having this much fun? Get ready for jaw-dropping action, high-octane thrills, and more impossible missions than you can shake a stick at!
Plot
Puri duniya mein itna AI-AI ho raha hai ki is baar director ne story ka villain hi AI ko bana diya. Set right after the events of ‘Fallout’, Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) is back, and this time he’s up against a threat even scarier than running out of hairspray – an artificial intelligence called “the Entity.” Picture a power-hungry, godless, stateless, faceless villain with the ability to control the world. No biggie, right? Iske kalesh se duniya ko bachaane ke liye our fearless hero must assemble a couple of physical keys to take down this AI. It’s a race against time, and Ethan is ready to go rogue once again to get the job done, with a few new characters along the way.
Performances
Tom Cruise is as always, the guy on an unlimited supply of Duracell batteries in this movie. Ethan Hunt is his bread and butter, and his dedication and authenticity to this role really shows. Hayley Atwell as the sassy pickpocket Grace is another cherry on top. She is intense, she kicks butts, and she has amazing chemistry with Tom. Ving Rhames as Luther, Simon Pegg as Benji, are the OGs who bring their A-game like they have done for so long. Rebecca Ferguson as the kick-ass Ilsa and Pom Klementieff as a fierce assassin join the party, resulting in absolute madness. All in all, this is one rare group project in which everyone contributes equally.
Cinematography and Direction
One reason why I have always appreciated this franchise is because of its authenticity. The practical effects and the actually-performed action makes you connect to the thrill. Idk I’ve always felt that I’m the one performing the stunts when I see MI movies. The cinematography in Dead Reckoning Part One is absolutely stunning. From death-defying cliff jumps to heart-pounding train chases, the action sequences are *chef’s kiss*. To add to this, Christopher McQuarrie keeps the pacing tight. Haan but some people might find the new character introductions and backstories a bit tiring, but don’t worry, you still won’t have time to blink!
Writing and Screenplay
Look, we all know the Mission: Impossible franchise isn’t exactly known for its intricate storytelling. It’s more like a popcorn flick on steroids – pure, mindless fun. And Dead Reckoning Part One stays true to that formula. Sure, we’ve got machines taking over the world and a good old-fashioned MacGuffin hunt, but who cares? It’s a blast! The screenplay keeps us engaged with twists, turns, and some seriously snappy dialogue. It’s witty, it’s sharp, and it’s everything we love about these movies. Story aur feel chahiye toh Kubrick aur Scorsese dekh sakte ho :p
So, grab your popcorn, buckle up, and prepare for a wild ride. Dead Reckoning Part One is a non-stop thrill-fest that will leave you grinning from ear to ear. Just remember, folks, in the world of Mission: Impossible, anything is possible – even hanging from airplanes and jumping off cliffs with motorbikes. This film delivers the goods and sets the stage for an epic conclusion in Dead Reckoning Part Two. Get ready for more impossible missions, more explosions, and more Tom Cruise defying the laws of physics. Mission: Accomplished!
