A woke lady once said, “Ye saare humko milke pagal bana rahe hai” and it couldn’t be more true.
We’ve all been speculating that BJP IT cell pays trolls/fake accounts on social media to run paid hashtag trends on social media. Well, it has been proved now, all thanks to a mistake by Bollywood actor Paresh Rawal. Or the person managing his Twitter account.
Yesterday, Paresh Rawal’s official account accidentally tweeted out a google document with instructions and plans to trend the hashtag #JhoothiCongress which he was probably supposed to share in a group. The doc contained sample tweets in Hindi and English that users just had to copy and paste. He realized his mistake and deleted the tweeted immediately, but well, say hello to this magical thing called screenshots.
Sir Paresh Rawal must have thought he was sending a DM when he accidentally tweeted out this BJP IT cell fake trend playbook. Caught with pants down. pic.twitter.com/SbqXey6D5z

Here are the screenshots of the document that are floating around.
BJP Official account later used the same hashtag in their tweets.

It’s fairly right to say that Indian general elections 2019 will be fought just as much on social media as on ground.
