While rest of the India is beginning to embrace the crisp air of the winter season, Delhi is facing a severe smog ‘Airpocalypse’ right now.
The capital city ‘Delhi’ is turning into a living gas chamber as a blanket of thick toxic smog has covered the whole city. Under a charcoal-tinted sky, people are breathing toxic air which is equivalent to smoking as much as fifteen cigarettes a day. The situation is so severe and out of control that the Government is urging all the Delhi residents to wear masks as a precaution, all primary and secondary schools have been shut down until further notice, and a health emergency in Delhi has been declared.
IMA (Indian Medical Association) has stated that the most harmful pollutant known as PM 2.5 has reached 703 micrograms per cubic meter, which is clearly over double the level of 300 which is considered to be hazardous. But wait, some parts in Delhi are all about the “hum Dilli se hai bc” attitude and hence, they are breaking world records. RK Puram area is at 999, which is more than triple of hazardous level, post which there are actually no readings available. *slow claps*
This is what chief minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal tweeted on Delhi Smog
Delhi has become a gas chamber. Every year this happens during this part of year. We have to find a soln to crop burning in adjoining states

While a lot of people are panicking over the dangerous levels of pollution and questioning the authorities on Twitter, other folks on social media are as usual resorting to humor and finding tragedy mein comedy. If you’re a Delhiite who is still able to see in this much smog, here, have some hilarious jokes and try not to die.

While Aam Aadmi Party is still trying to tackle this smog situation, Odd Even scheme is set to be implemented from Monday in Delhi. And this time not even two wheelers and women are to exempted from this rule. Although odd-even scheme was proven failed last time, but let’s hope it’s worth a shot.
