As 2017 year is coming to a close, let’s take a look back at the most WTF and absurd Indian news headlines that shouldn’t have happened this year.
A train carrying around 1500 farmers to Maharashtra ended up in Madhya Pradesh instead. The farmers who were on their way to Kota, got stranded in Banmore station near Gwalior and the authorities there had no idea what to do with them. Sounds like a plot straight outta bollywood flick.

Shivraj Chouhan, CM of Madhya Pradesh said this at the US-India strategic forum meeting: “When I got down at Washington Airport and travelled on the roads, I felt that the roads in Madhya Pradesh are better than those in the US.” It got savagely trolled.

The human stupidity peaked in 2017 when minister of Tamil Nadu came up with a grand plan and spent a day covering water surface with thermocol sheets so the water won’t evaporate, and hence save the state from drought woes. Yep. Totally legit.

This is what happens when you take politics too seriously. A couple got in a fight and cancelled their wedding because one of them thought PM Modi was responsible for India’s economic slowdown, while the bhakt begged to differ.

Nepotism was a big debate in the year 2017, Sonakshi Sinha took it to next level when she tried to defend the star-kids by saying: “If a doctor’s child wants to become a doctor, nobody has an issue with it. It’s the same when a lawyer’s child becomes a lawyer, but if an actor’s child wants to become an actor, everyone has a problem with it. I don’t understand that.”
Dear Sonakshi Sinha , I wasn’t aware of the lack of nepotism, back then. Else I would have ended up as a doctor like my dad 🙂

Assam Health Minister said in an interview that “God makes us suffer when we sin. Sometimes we come across young men getting inflicted with cancer or meeting with accidents. If you observe the background you will come to know that it’s divine justice.” A health minister said that. Let that sink for a moment.

In the most bizarre news, a man drove his car into a cricket field where Ranji Trophy match was being played. Indian cricketers like Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma and Suresh Raina were present.

This news pretty much sums up the state of India in year 2017. An Indian high court judge claimed in an interview that peacocks reproduce from their tears and cow urine prevents ageing. It got savagely trolled for all the right reasons.

Never underestimate the stupidity of angry Indians. It got proved when Snapchat CEO allegedly called India a poor country, but Indians down-rated Snapdeal app in the playstore to express their outrage. Something similar happened when Indians downrated Blue Whale Simulator 3D app thinking it was the blue whale game that prompted kids to suicide.
Lo and behold, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s iconic blue WagonR car got stolen from Delhi Secretariat area. Although, it was found within a week, but the jokes were hilarious.
Kejriwal's Wagon R is stolen near Delhi Secretariat. Check those 150000 CCTVs which AAP govt installed in all Delhi. And Modi must resign !!

Apparently, India Today ran a click-bait story sexualizing Shah Rukh Khan’s 16 year old daughter Suhana Khan. After receiving the sticks for it, they decided to remove it.
Suhana khan is 16 years old, indiatoday wants you to spice up your Friday by looking at 20 photos of a 16 year old. Brilliant journalism. pic.twitter.com/IED46imDyN

A teenage boy hugged a girl after she finished her performance on stage, teacher caught them in “act” and thought it was highly inappropriate. Teacher stalked their instagram account to “gather evidence” against the kids, and school suspended them both. The boy’s father dragged school to the high court, but HC backed the school’s decision. Yep. All true. We are a messed up nation.
Puritanical patriarchy run rampant. By sexualizing innocent affection between friends & fellow students, we are creating self-conscious hypocrites trained to suppress their feelings. And in this case, damaging a student’s academic career. I’m appalled. https://t.co/An0yScjBep
